Health education is essential for communities to equip members with the skills and knowledge necessary to control and prevent diseases. Effective health education gives rise to a healthy community with a high development rate since every individual can play the assigned role in the running of the society. The assessment and study of the causes of diseases and creation of measures to solve them is referred to as epidemiology. Epidemiology is a discipline of medicine that deals with the study of health incidents, distribution of diseases, treatments, possible control and other factors that affect the rates of infections (Boyer et al., 2017). Epidemiologists must have the abilities to learn about health problems, how they spread through the population and what makes them more hazardous to be able to create cures.

Tools are used by the epidemiologists to efficiently identify and understand infections and dangerous diseases referred to as epidemiologic triangle. The epidemiologic triangle is a plan that helps explain the organisms responsible for causing the health problems and the favorable environmental condition for it to function. It comprises of the host, agent and the environment. The agent is the small organism responsible for causing the disease in question. It may be in the form of bacteria, parasite and a virus. The host is the infected organism that carries around the condition and does not necessarily get sick (Berkman, Kawachi and Glymour, 2014). They may display signs and symptoms of the infection or may act as carriers to transport the agents from one station to another which contributes to the spread. The environment is the outside factors that affect disease spread but do not directly interact with the host or the agent. For instance, temperature levels change the abilities of different agents to strive in their attempt to cause diseases.

Epidemiology is useful for preventing diseases before they occur which makes it an essential tool and procedures in the medical field. Epidemiologists can study the environment and identify conditions that may contribute to illnesses which gives room for prevention before the community is affected. Early treatment and prevention are essential since it is less costly and also helps reduce the pain and suffering of the patient. Proper analysis or disease-causing organisms also provide opportunities for research and creation of effective and efficient pharmacology treatments (Boyer et al., 2017). It avoids the last-minute rush in applying medication to individuals which may cause arise in medical errors increasing the hazardous effects to the patients.

The community provides patients that need medical attention after being affecting by the diseases. All the research carried out to identify disease-causing organisms, their prevention and treatment procedures are all aimed at making the community a better place. It, therefore, makes the community clients with health care needs that need satisfaction from the epidemiologists (Berkman, Kawachi and Glymour, 2014). Medical practitioners work to provide the comfort of their clients’ needs which is the community by ensuring all their health care problems are solved, and the environment is secured to avoid the emergence and spread of diseases.

The goal of health education in any community setting is to make the society members aware of the infections in the environment, how to identify and overcome them. Many communities are affected by infections that can solve if they had enough skills and knowledge about the diseases. Some go further to causing permanent damage or even death because of the simple act of ignorance (Boyer et al., 2017). Health education, therefore, helps individuals to understand procedures of dealing with different health problems in time before they create severe effects. Identification of poor environmental conditions that can cause diseases is also enabled which gives room for timely discovery and prevention by correcting the conditions. Health education, therefore, helps in giving rise to a healthy and disease free community.
